Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The armed conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, has in fact also dragged down the United States (US). Most parties consider Washington to be one-sided in responding to the conflict.

In the last 20 months, the US has continued to campaign against the atrocities committed by Russia in Ukraine. Washington condemned Russia’s actions as illegal and cruel, saying Moscow had carried out the murder of civilians.

However, Uncle Sam’s country did something different in Gaza. Even though there have been thousands of casualties following Israeli air attacks, the US government led by President Joe Biden has not issued any criticism of Tel Aviv.

What happened was just the opposite. He defended Israel, which he said was carrying out acts of self-defense and claimed that he was a Zionist, or a group that believes that the state of Israel must be established on the Mount Zion area, which belongs to Palestine.

This started to invite reactions. One of them is the Queen of Jordan, Queen Rania. In an interview with CNN Internationalhe questioned how the US and some Western countries responded to Israel’s attacks on Palestine.

“In recent weeks we have seen a glaring double standard in the world when October 7 happened, the world immediately and unequivocally supported Israel, and tried to defend itself and condemn the attack that occurred, what we saw,” he said, quoted Wednesday (25 /10/2023).

“Did you know, countries are starting to just express concern or acknowledge the loss of life, but always with a preface to a statement of support for Israel. Are we told that killing a family and an entire family at gunpoint is wrong, but it doesn’t matter if it’s a missile? them to death?”

Escalation in the Gaza area continues to increase after Israel bombarded the area sporadically. This was done by Tel Aviv to destroy the Hamas group, which attacked the Jewish State on October 7 and killed 1,400 residents.

Even though it claims to target Hamas, Israel’s attacks have in fact caused great damage to civilians. So far, the death toll in Gaza has reached at least 5,700 people.

On Monday, at least 400 people were reported dead across Gaza, following relentless Israeli air strikes in the past 24 hours. It was recorded that bombings occurred at 25 points in the Palestinian enclave.

Apart from massive attacks, Israel has also cut off access to logistics materials, water and utilities to the Gaza area. This condition has also threatened the lives of the residents of the area, with health facilities increasingly overwhelmed due to the large number of victims and limited supplies of medicines and electricity.

Arab leaders have voiced their frustration with US reluctance to try to curb Israel’s blockade. Jordan, Egypt and the Palestinian Authority withdrew from a planned summit in Jordan with US President Joe Biden last week.

Meanwhile, concerns are growing that the conflict could spread to neighboring countries in the Middle East. This is because Israel is urging civilians in the northern part of Gaza to move south ahead of anticipated ground operations.

“Forcing Gaza civilians to move constitutes a war crime of forced displacement,” the Norwegian Refugee Council said.

Tel Aviv’s order also received strong opposition from the leaders of Jordan and Egypt. They said the move could plunge the region into war.

“The movement of Palestinians to Jordan and Egypt will be a red line,” and said neither Jordan nor Egypt would accept refugees from Gaza, said Jordan’s King Abdullah.

“Any suggestion that the two countries put forward to accommodate fleeing Gazans is a plot carried out by the suspects to try and create problems in fact in the field.”
