Lübeck – Last weekend was the final matchday of the 2. League North (ladies and gentlemen) in Ultimate Frisbee Both teams, consisting of joint teams of the clubs LBV Phönix from Lübeck and TeKielas Ultimate Frisbee Team Kielsuccessfully asserted themselves and secured their places.

Review of the first weekend
Die Baltic Sea Sirens (Women) played in the 2nd league last year. While it was hard fought to stay in the league back then, the women showed a clear improvement in performance this season. They won two games on the first weekend. The remaining games were also won by a narrow margin by their opponents.
Die Holstein Cox (Men), who were promoted to the 2nd league last year, prepared intensively for this season. Despite good performances, the games on the first tournament weekend were a big challenge. These matches showed that the Holsteiner Cox are in good hands in this league. In the end, it was enough for an important victory against Cologne.
On the final weekend in Kiel, the Baltic Sea Sirens continued their strong performance and, with another win against Rostock, achieved 4th place and thus a very confident relegation.

Despite defeats against the tournament favorites (Berlin and Leipzig), the Holstein Cox clearly showed how much progress they had made since the first weekend. After the group phase, however, the danger of relegation continued. In the placement games, however, the Cox secured a win against Bremen and ended up in 7th place – and thus achieved their goal for the season: staying in the league.
Both Lübeck teams are now starting to look ahead to the coming season. The women are aiming for promotion to the 1st division next year, while the men are training to assert their place in the 2nd division even more confidently.
