The Chinese suspected of being the initial instigator of the murder, who was also the boss of the trainee police officer, was acquitted with the benefit of the doubt. The girlfriend of the trainee police officer, a mixed-race Chinese woman, was also released.
The arrest of these individuals was carried out after a thorough investigation, placing them all under arrest warrant. Almost a year after the tragic events, the hearing finally took place.
As a reminder, the tragedy took place in Ambohimahatsinjo, between Imerinkasinina and Ambohimalaza, where a clerk and a tax inspector were shot dead shortly before 6 p.m. The suspects, a Chinese national and his bodyguard, the trainee police officer, were arrested and taken into custody.
