CASTROVILLARI – Two people, a man and a woman, were killed tonight with some gunshots in the countryside of Castrovillari, in the province of Cosenza. The corpses were inside a car in an isolated area, in the “Giammellona” district: they would be those of a convict and his partner. The man’s body was in the trunk of the car, while the woman’s was in the driver’s seat. The man had already escaped an ambush.
The man and the woman, according to what emerged from the first investigations by the military of the Operational Department of the Provincial Command of Cosenza and of the Company of Castrovillari, would have been killed a few hours before the discovery of the corpses. The bodies of the victims are hit by numerous gunshots. The carabinieri investigating the double crime have managed to identify the victims but have not yet formalized their identity.
On the spot, also the prosecutor of Castrovillari, Alessandro D’Alessio, and the coroner. The main hypothesis at the moment is that the double murder may be linked to environments of the ‘Ndrangheta.
