It was a pressured Barcelona that went out to the home match against Getafe after the other three top teams won their respective fights earlier in the round. In the end, it was a comfortable victory for the Catalans in a match that contained most things.
Barcelona got a taste start when Lionel Messi ran through and after a fine pass in deep, the Argentine made no mistake when he found the far end.
However, the joy was short-lived for Barcelona when the guests equalized after a deadly own goal just minutes later. A shot then headed on Barça defender Clement Lenglet into goal.
Before the first half hour was over, another own goal came – this time from Getafe’s side. Midfielder Sofian Chakla and goalkeeper David Soria misunderstood each other. When the goalkeeper rushed out, Chakla played the ball home – next to the goalkeeper. Soria had to put her legs on her back and run towards her own goal – but in vain.
– It is this year’s own goal, says C More commentator Christopher Kviborg.
– It’s almost incomprehensible, I do not know who to hang?
Experts Marcelo Fernandez:
– Chakla does not even look up to see where the goalkeeper is, so it is not only possible to blame the goalkeeper for this.
Just minutes later also came 3-1 via Messi who thus scored his second goal of the match when he scored his own return from close range.
Getafe reduced to 3-2 through Enes Ünal from the penalty spot with twenty minutes left to play and then brought life to the match. Ronald Araujo, however, scored 4-2 on a corner in the final minutes – and in stoppage time, Antoine Griezmann fixed the final score 5-2 from the penalty spot.
