Moolamattam ∙ A couple was hacked to death in Moolamattam, Idukki. The deceased have been identified as Kerianical Kumaran (70) and his wife Thankamma (65) of Moolamattam Cheradi. Their son, who lived with them, went missing under mysterious circumstances. It is reported that the man who attacked his parents is absconding. Kumanare and Thankamma were found slashed by relatives who went to look for them at 11 am on Wednesday. Kumaran was dead.
Thangamma, who was in critical condition, was found under the bed. Moolamattam then informed the police. Thankamma was taken to Thodupuzha District Hospital. He was taken to Kottayam Medical College Hospital as his injuries were serious, but he died on the way.
