Dresden. The Dresden fire brigade is currently on duty on the Bautzner Landstrasse. For reasons yet to be determined, smoke had developed in the engine compartment of a double-decker bus on a city tour. The bus driver noticed the smoke and stopped the vehicle, which was heading towards the city center.

Flames spread to engine compartment

Shortly after all passengers had exited the bus, the flames quickly spread to the entire engine compartment and parts of the passenger compartment. The entire street was enveloped in dense smoke. Three squads wearing respiratory protection started fighting the fire with two nozzles. In addition to water, extinguishing foam was also used.

Engine compartment is checked for embers

The fire has now been extinguished and the emergency services are now checking the engine compartment for embers. A thermal imaging camera is also used. The Bautzner Landstraße is completely closed to traffic. Public transport is also affected. There are no injuries to report.

Police have started investigations

The police have started an investigation into this matter. 24 emergency services from the Albertstadt fire and rescue station and the Bühlau district fire brigade are deployed. The mission will be over soon.
