Dortmund. The city administration of Dortmund won the blood donation award 2020 from Klinikum Dortmund gGmbH and was allowed to receive the trophy for first place – call for blood donation also for the year 2021.
A blood donation is indispensable for many clinical pictures, such as the treatment of tumor patients, operations or organ transplants, organ transplants. Many colleagues from Dortmund’s city administration took this need into account last year and donated their blood to the Dortmund Clinic. In doing so, they not only committed themselves to a good cause, but also won the 2020 Blood Donation Award presented by the Dortmund Clinic. “I am proud of all of my colleagues who, despite the corona pandemic, have decided to donate blood and thus significantly support the health system,” said Head of Human Resources and Organization Christian Uhr happily.
Lisa Cathrin Müller, Deputy Head of Corporate Communications at the hospital, praises the great effort: “The city of Dortmund even came in first! Your commitment in 2020 was really impressive, especially – this must be emphasized – despite Corona. The blood donation DO recorded 119 donations from the city, many of the donors among them were ‘repeat offenders’. Apparently, due to Covid-19, some of the other participants stayed away from the blood donation – or had to stay away. We are all the more grateful that the city’s employees regularly participate. “
Anke Deutschmann, contact person at the Occupational Safety and Health Management (BAGM) for the blood donation campaign of KlinikumDO gGmbH, has again launched an appeal this year to the employees of the city administration to take part in the good campaign: “Donate blood means saving lives. So join in and do something good! “
Also this year the city administration of Dortmund is participating in the action of KlinikumDO gGmbH. All employees who donate whole blood throughout the year help ensure that the company with the highest participation can win the 2021 award. The campaign runs from 01.01. until December 31, 2021.
