More than 50 holiday destinations during the summer holidays
Despite the total of 391,900 passengers during the summer holidays, the situation at Dortmund Airport was calm – unlike at other German airports. The airport has grown by almost two percent in 2019. The people of Dortmund were able to choose between 50 holiday destinations during the summer holidays. Places in demand were Balaton, Katowice, Palma de Mallorca, Bucharest, Sofia, Vienna and Antalya.
The numbers have increased rapidly this year. Because already in the second quarter the number of passengers increased by around 130 percent compared to the previous year, according to a statement from Dortmund Airport. From the summer months of June and July, the numbers had soared to a record level and surpassed it. This makes 2022 the new record holder for passenger numbers.
