Hoffner recently made the news after completing a tandem skydive near Chicago. After the jump from a height of about four kilometers, she could call herself the oldest skydiver in the world. “I had to keep myself awake so I could enjoy the view,” she said after the jump.
Watch the footage of her jump here:
The recent skydive was not the first one Hoffner has done in her life. She took her first leap when she was 100 years old.
With her jump earlier this month, she would officially be the oldest skydiver in the world. The record still needs to be confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records. According to Conant, this will take some time.
In return for AP Conant says that Hoffner was not working on the record. She enjoyed her first jump so much that she wanted to do it again. According to Conant, Hoffner was “tireless.” “She just kept going. She wasn’t one to take a nap in the afternoon or not show up for a party. She was always there.”
