MASER (TREVISO). He had kept the gym open in protest, a gesture of civil rebellion to challenge the harsh restrictions imposed on his activity for months now. But on Friday evening, in addition to the customers, the fines also arrived. Yuri, owner of the Dorian Gray gym in Maser, was sanctioned by the carabinieri with 400 euros, and the same applies to the fifteen people who were training inside the structure on Friday evening, which by law should have remained closed.
Protest
«The controls arrived on Friday evening at 7.30 pm» says the owner, «they did their job and we provided our data. They took the personal details of all those present, about fifteen people, and began to notify the minutes: a fine of 400 euros each for everyone, even for those who were training ». Juri was in Piazza Montecitorio in Rome last week, protesting against the policy of closures: «We will not pay them, we will continue with the procedure that has been indicated to us, waiting for the real sanction and appealing through our lawyers. I intend to go on, we must not be afraid, let’s open up, only in this way can we regain our dignity, working is a right “.
The controls in the center
In the first weekend in the orange zone, people also returned to the historic center. We didn’t see the crowds or the yellow zone, but still the turnout – at the city market in the morning, and in the city in the afternoon – was good. No sanctions, only two phone calls from residents to the local police for gatherings outside the bars, which however resulted in nothing.
Even some owners of public businesses have complained for the same reason: “They can’t come in for a coffee, on the other hand they can crowd downtown after taking something to go”. At lunchtime, in particular, several groups were seen stationed outside the premises. “There was a good turnout of people in the city center, we know that in the orange zone the citizens of the Municipality can move without motivation from 5 to 22” explains the commander of the Treviso local police, Andrea Gallo.

The market
«At the market we had about ten agents both in plain clothes and in uniform, the volunteers of the Civil Protection, the Alpini and the Carabinieri, and there were no sanctions. The balance is therefore positive. Yesterday morning, however, a couple of reports arrived at the operations center for gatherings in front of public shops in the center: the plainclothes staff intervened to check, but found no violation of the rules. We reminded the operators of bars and restaurants to be careful to respect the rules, but we have always received a great collaboration. On Saturday afternoon we sanctioned only two harassing beggars, the influx of people into the center was good but no fine ». –
