A 41-year-old man appeared on Wednesday before the Dijon Criminal Court for possession of narcotics.
On Sunday, it was checked by the Dijon customs brigade on the A31 motorway area in Brognon. In his Mercedes, were concealed, next to the spare wheel, 8.620 kg of heroin. The customs officers also found, in the belongings of the person concerned, a press which could be used for repackaging.
€ 28,000 discovered at his home
This former trader in Montpellier, unemployed and receiving the disabled adult’s allowance, admitted the facts in police custody. During a search of his home in Montpellier by the judicial police, € 28,000 in cash was discovered. He explained that he had agreed to transport the drugs from Brussels to pay off his debts. He also said he suffers from schizophrenia and is a regular user of heroin and cocaine.
The defendant, already known to the courts, asked the judges for a deadline to prepare his defense. While awaiting his trial set for December 9, he was remanded in custody.
