In addition to the damage caused by Sparta fans in the Doosan arena, the guest dressing room was also demolished
Yesterday we reported extensive damage to the Doosan Arena by AC Sparta Prague fans during Saturday’s match. FC Viktoria have issued a statement regarding this case, in which they emphasize that it was not just about the fans. The guest changing room was also demolished.
Full press release
At the beginning it is kind to congratulate the Sparta team on the victory and the three points. Unfortunately as a club we also have to deal with things that do not belong to the sports team, and these are the damage we noticed immediately after the match at the city stadium.
The damage to the property of the city stadium occurred in the away fans sector. Spectators certainly noticed the flames, when fans intentionally set fire to seats and other flammable material (including in the bowels of the stadium in the toilet), a dangerous situation that threatens the safety of visitors to the stadium. This is exactly how the professional firefighters present assessed the situation, after which they decided to intervene and put out the flames. We appreciate this procedure, thanks to which it was not necessary to interrupt the game and evacuate the spectators.
The interior of the stadium was also damaged, where radiators, sinks and other sanitary fixtures in the toilet areas were torn off. At the moment the camera footage is being evaluated and the damage counted, which the club will subsequently recover.
Last but not least, we were unpleasantly surprised by the state of the guests’ dressing room after the team left it. We noticed damaged plaster, a broken window and torn ceiling soffits. We understand that the visitors were celebrating the victory, but these facts are out of the ordinary and should definitely not happen. During the current season we played a series of important and heated matches, however we noticed for the first time damage to the equipment in the locker room, in our opinion this should not happen and it does not belong to football.

FC Viktoria Plzeň
We already reported on the extensive vandalism and behavior of visiting fans in yesterday’s article:
Spartan fans went on a rampage in the Doosan Arena as if they had been deprived of their senses
Yesterday’s football match between FC Viktoria Plzeň and AC Sparta Prague is likely to have a similar outcome to the recent match against Slavia. Once again, there have been numerous cases of vandalism in the stadium premises and attempts to start fires in the away sector.
According to information directly from the stadium, before the end of the first half, the Sparta fans first tried to set fire to the seats using toilet paper and toilet towels, prevented the firefighters from extinguishing the fire and launched non only glasses of beer or urine, but also torn seats.
After the failure of this action, the vandals then focused on the toilet area, which they literally demolished, for example, tore up the radiators and started a fire again.
Vandalism in the stadium is obviously handled by the police. “After the football match, the police arrested a person suspected of an illegal act related to damage to the stadium equipment. They also arrested two people who committed an illegal act against public order, and coercive measures were used in against them. Nobody was injured during the operation. “ the police spokeswoman said, adding that the police are continuing to deal with individual cases, evaluating camera footage and searching for perpetrators.
Even before the football match, the police arrested two people who had committed crimes against public order and civil coexistence. “Because the two men did not obey the calls of the police officers, coercive means were used and then both were placed in the anti-alcohol detention center. Police officers found 1.5 and 2.5 per million. alcohol in their breath through breath tests, “ the police spokesman said.
