DOORDASH presents “Somos Boyle Heights” one of the oldest Latino neighborhoods in Los Angeles

DoorDash invites us to celebrate the people and culture of Boyle Heights, one of the oldest Latino neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

Recognizing the vital role that Boyle Heights plays in the Latino community of Los Angeles, DoorDash presents “Somos Boyle Heights,” an invitation to discover the rich, vibrant and uniquely Latin American flavors of this historic Los Angeles neighborhood, according to the artists, merchants and local residents who live and have lived in that area. To bring the interactive campaign to life, DoorDash collaborated with artists Levi Ponce, Marlene Solorio, Héctor Arias, and the Kalli Arte Collective.

Custom murals combine art with technology by inviting visitors to scan a QR code to visit SomosBoyleHeightsFilm.com,, a micro site that showcases photos of local residents and restaurant owners, and a short documentary that highlights the stories of the locals who have lived in that area for generations.

“Our mission at DoorDash has always been to empower local communities, and we are excited to further this mission by celebrating the incredible history of the historic Boyle Heights neighborhood,” said Monisha Lewis, Senior Manager of Consumer Marketing at DoorDash. “With this initiative, we set out to not only highlight the growth and strength of this city, but also to authentically celebrate the people who help it thrive.”

Angelenos will have the opportunity to participate in this interactive art experience by uploading personal photos in the areas of the murals with captions about their own stories in Boyle Heights, and sharing what the neighborhood means to them. Photos, videos and stories will live on the Boyle Heights celebration micro-site and help online visitors discover and appreciate the beauty of the neighborhood.

High resolution images and the final documentary have been included here with information about the muralists and residents featured in the short film.
