DOOM received an update 27 years later. DOOM 2 is also not forgotten

16: 9 aspect ratio support and other changes

Bethesda has released updates to the first two installments of DOOM, built on the Unity engine. This year the games are 27 and 26 years old, respectively.

Owners of the originals on Steam will automatically receive updated versions of the shooter. However, original DOS versions will also be available.

Id Software has improved the game engine, which now maintains a 16: 9 aspect ratio without black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. Field of View (FOV) has been increased and all graphics, subtitles and menu items have been redesigned.

On PS4, Switch and PC, added the ability to control the camera using the gyroscope located in the controller, but on PC this feature can only be used with the DualShock 4. On iOS, the touch control has been improved.

An additional sight is also implemented, which changes color when the enemy is captured. Deathmatch 3.0 has appeared in split-screen multiplayer mode, a special version of the mode in which weapons collected by one user remain on the map.

In addition, support for modifications prepared using the DeHackEd tool has appeared. Mods offer additional weapons, change the behavior of enemies, and more.
