Last week the free upgrade appeared for DOOM Eternal and thus you would say that id Software is done with the lightning fast shooter by now. Nothing could be further from the truth, because on Twitter Marty Stratton has indicated that a new Horde Mode is on the way to DOOM Eternal.
Unfortunately, Stratton indicates in the same update that the previously announced Invasion Mode will no longer appear, because there were complications during development due to the coronavirus working from home. Finally, Stratton says there are plans to adapt the Battlemode to a more competitive structure, in addition to a completely new level and updates that should keep the balance intact.
The producer couldn’t give a concrete date for when this update should be released, but id Software expects to share more information during QuakeCon, which will take place in August.
