VARIAN recently the N439K corona virus is a hot topic of conversation in today’s society. This virus variant became famous, after the discovery of 48 positive cases of N439K in Indonesia.
As is known, the Indonesian people were shocked by the same thing in early March 2021. At that time the Deputy Minister of Health, dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono announced the discovery of six cases of B117 in the country.
Then how dangerous is the N439K variant compared to the B117 which are both currently being discussed. Covid-19 Volunteer Doctor, dr. Muhamad Fajri Adda’i tries to explain this.
“Even though 48 cases were found, we do not yet know any connection between Covid-19 being faster, because so far there is no data on it,” explained dr. Fajri when contacted by MNC Portal Indonesia, Tuesday (16/3/2021).
According to dr. Fajri, the world also doesn’t pay much attention to the new Covid-19 N439K variant. Because this variant is not included in the variant of concern. Furthermore, if there are indications that it is more dangerous, the variant will be included in the UI variant (Varian Under Investigation).
“Later, these variants will be investigated and later will be seen again. “There are three types included in the variant of concern, namely those from Brazil, South Africa, and those in England,” he continued.
Regarding the symptoms of N439K, dr. Fajri said nothing had changed in the new variant. Even the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) testing tool can detect the virus.
“PCR can detect this new variant, but in detail, PCR is only able to check that the person has Covid-19, but cannot detect which variant of the virus. And to find out the virus variant, you can only use Whole Genome Sequencing, “he concluded.
