Amid the great impact of social media on our daily lives, the spread of catastrophic challenges does not stop at applications, especially TikTok.
And in what was new, a serious warning was issued by doctors around the world during the past hours, after a new challenge spread through the Chinese application asking people to drink raw potato juice to treat sore throat (tonsils).
Watch and pay attention..
Doctors from the United States and Britain confirmed, in their warning, that these allegations are very dangerous, explaining that what TikTok influencers said about potato juice and its ability to treat sore throat is completely untrue.
Rather, they went further, stressing that these habits may eventually lead to death after complications that amount to complications in the kidneys or serious rheumatic fever, then chronic diseases of the heart and brain, according to the “Daily Mail” newspaper.
They note that strep throat is a bacterial infection that has caused public health concerns in the UK and US this winter after a deadly resurgence.

They stressed that promoting that period may lead to disastrous results, especially as it may be a fatal mistake for children and the elderly.
It is noteworthy that the video clips that spread during the past hours through influencers on the TikTok platform, showing their drinking raw potato juice as a treatment for sore throat, garnered hundreds of thousands of posts in a short period.
The confusion came after blogger and author Allie Casazza claimed to her 12,200 followers on the platform that she had cured her 14-year-old daughter from a sore throat by drinking the aforementioned juice.
Another user gave advice on which types of potatoes are best to use depending on whether you live in the US or the UK.
Urgent warnings
Once the challenge became widespread, warnings were raised that not taking antibiotics for sore throats allowed the bacteria to spread to other parts of the body and could cause a host of complications including acute rheumatic fever and scarlet fever.

And Dr. Eddie Mughal, known as Dr Idz on TikTok, saw that challenge as one of the most dangerous videos he had ever seen, warning against treating children with that drink in the event of severe throat symptoms.
Perhaps these alerts forced the aforementioned blogger to delete the video from her account.
Potato juice is simply raw potato juice, and can be made by placing a potato in a juicer or grating it and catching the juice.
