GARUT, KOMPAS.TV—Muhammad Gibran Arrasyid (14) was not the first person to experience a strange incident and even disappeared while climbing on Mount Guntur, Garut Regency, West Java.
In the last 12 years, there have been three other climbers who have suffered the same fate as him.
This is as stated by Ade Leji (55), Kuncen Gunung Guntur. Like Gibran’s story, Ade Leji said, three other climbers were found with their own stories.
“Three times there have been missing in Guntur, but thank God, by God’s will they were found safe,” said Ade Leji, Saturday (9/25/2021) as quoted from TribunJabar, Sunday (26/9).

Mount Guntur is the second highest mountain in Garut Regency after Mount Cikuray. Mount Guntur is located at an altitude of 2,229 MDPL and Mount Cikuray 2,821 MDPL.
The majority of the area on Mount Guntur has the status of a nature reserve. Since 1979, Mount Guntur has been declared a nature reserve by the Ministry of Agriculture with SK 170/KptsUm/3/1979.
Then, in 1990, the nature reserve was expanded with SK 110/Kpts-II/1990. Finally, in 1994, this determination was renewed again by the Ministry of Forestry with SK 433/Kpts-II/1994.
Even so, Mount Guntur remains part of the Kamojang Nature Reserve to this day. The mountain, which is said to be a miniature of Mount Semeru, has many stories of its own.
According to Ade Leji, there are three restrictions that Mount Guntur climbers cannot violate.
