don’t wait for big design changes

Renderings of the iPad Pro 2021 are starting to appear online and all seem to indicate that aside from a very slight thinning of the borders, this vintage should keep the same design as in 2020.

For all tech products, there are years of big changes and years that are just iterations to perfect a few details and update the hardware part. For the iPad Pro, 2021 seems to be moving towards this second category.

MySmartPrice and Pigtou allegedly managed to get their hands on CAD plans for the iPad Pro 2021, in its 11 ″ version for the first and in its 12.9 ″ version for the second. The two sites thus offer a 3D rendering of the future Apple tablet.

Both agree that the design of the iPad Pro 2021 should not change from that of the previous generation, even if technical improvements are made. Some rumors particularly evoke the switch from OLED to Mini LED for the screen.

Dimensions could also vary slightly. According to MySmartPrice, the dimensions of the iPad Pro 11 ″ 2021 would be 245.74 x 176.61 x 5.9 mm, compared to 247.6 x 178.5 x 5.9 mm for the 2020 version. equal screen, the few millimeters gained should therefore represent a refinement of the borders.

To a lesser extent, Pigtou announces dimensions of 280.66 x 215 x 6.39 mm for the 12.9 ″ model, against 280.6 x 214.9 x 5.9 mm for the current generation. Nothing that should be particularly noticeable here then, except a greater thickness (which could be synonymous with a larger battery by the way, or linked to the addition of 5G).

Products expected in spring

For now, the 2021 iPad Pros are still rumored and leaked, but if Apple sticks to its usual schedule, they should be presented around March, this spring.

Among the novelties, we expect in particular the integration of a new A14X chip and the arrival of 5G for cellular variations.
