Don’t take this item in Thai hotels, it’s Haram!

Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai

There was something amazing when we went to the far north of Thailand. Hence, there are rules prohibiting travelers from taking these items from hotels.

The story is, after we checked out, our guide informed us that it was forbidden to take these items home. So those of us who had already packed it in our suitcases had to take it out again.

Those things are hotel slippers. In fact, sandals are usually free and free if you take them home. However, this does not apply if a traveler goes to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.

when detikTravel we went there last week and wanted to get sandals, we were told they weren’t free. The no-to-take-home-slipper rule applies in Thailand’s two northernmost cities.

“So indeed the sandals from hotels in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai cannot be taken home. Or they are not free,” said one of our guides, Masukree Kueteh.

These are the common rules that apply to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. If a traveler insists on taking him home, he is perfectly fine if he expresses his intention to the receptionist first.

So, there are really many things from the hotel that we can take home. These items are complementary for the staying traveller.

Below is a list of items in hotel rooms that are usually allowed to be brought by guests:

– Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap)
– Moisturizing
– Conditioner
– Hair comb
– cotton swab,
– Shaving kit
– Toilet paper
– Toilet bag
– Sandalo Hotel
– Laundry bag
– Mineral air
– Coffee, sugar and tea,
– Pens and notebooks

However, a number of hotels have different rules regarding what items guests can take home. So, in order for it not to become a problem, it’s a good idea for a traveler to ask the hotel before taking the item home.
