Israel and Hamas officially entered into a ceasefire to end roughly 11 days of fighting last week. However, even though both of them agreed that the victim died Palestine kept going on as if there was no agreement.
For example today, AFP reported that the Israeli Army shot dead a Palestinian man in the West Bank. The man’s name is Zakaria Hamayel (28).
The shooting took place in the village of Beita, south of Nablus. The deadly incident began when demonstrations related to the expansion of Israeli settlements ended in chaos.
The victim was shot in the chest. While Israeli authorities have not responded to a request for comment from AFP.
During the demonstration, a journalist AFP witnessed protesters throwing stones at Israeli soldiers.
Not only that, on Tuesday (25/5) after the ceasefire agreement, killings of Palestinians continued. A Palestinian youth named Ahmad Jameel Fahad was shot dead by Israeli forces in the Al-Amari refugee camp, near Ramallah.
More than 25 Palestinians have been killed in clashes in the West Bank. The West Bank is home to 2.8 million Palestinians living with 400,000 Israelis.
