Lich (us). The heating in the Traumstern cinema recently gave up the ghost. It was successfully repaired and is now running again. “It will probably hold out this winter,” says Armin Neumann from the Licher Greens. “But she can’t make it to the next one.” Now the city wants to help the cultural cooperative that maintains the Traumstern property.
On Wednesday evening, the Main and Finance Committee unanimously approved an emergency motion from the Greens and thus the payment of 40,000 euros. The money is intended as a boost for more comprehensive energy-saving renovations.
A total of 200,000 euros has already been earmarked for this purpose in the budget for 2024, but with a blocking note. Before it is repealed, the city councilors want to see a renovation concept. This is not yet available, but the heating issue cannot be postponed, as Armin Neumann made clear. The exchange must be completed in the summer. However, this deadline can only be met if the engineering services can be commissioned now. The need for renovation in the old building is considerable.
Mayor Dr. Julien Neubert, who spoke of a “promising funding backdrop”. “We want to get the ball rolling now.” The engineers’ planning is expected to provide information about the next steps and the costs.
