The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on the 22nd (local time) that no mutant virus has been detected in the United States.
US Minister of Health and Welfare Alix Aza told Fox News that Pfizer’s vaccine would be effective in preventing the virus.
Ugur Sahin (CEO) of Bioentech, Germany, who co-developed the vaccine with Pfizer said, “Scientifically, the immune response of this vaccine is highly likely to be effective against a strained virus.” More than 600,000 Americans have been vaccinated against the infectious disease (Corona 19). Anthony Pouch, director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), one of the nation’s top infectious diseases expert, said “quite harsh measures” regarding the possibility of banning British travelers from entering the United States. He stressed that there is a need to monitor the spread of the mutant virus, but the authorities need not be overreacted.
Reuters reported that the White House’s Corona 19 Task Force (TF) reviewed a proposal to require inbound travelers from the UK to submit negative Corona 19 results within 72 hours, but reported that it has no plans to implement it right away.
The U.S. government is cautious about restrictions on entry from the UK, but airlines are significantly reducing flights to the UK.
In New York, the United States, where Corona 19 is severely affected, only those passengers who have tested negative for flights departing from the UK have decided to enter the country.
New York State’s action means that even if an American has stayed in the UK, he will be allowed to enter the country only after a negative corona 19 test has been confirmed.
