Don’t overlook it … a dangerous sign that threatens women with premature death

Follow-up – Ali Mualla:

A US study revealed that women who had miscarriages were 19% more likely to die prematurely.

The BMJ magazine said the researchers came to this conclusion after studying medical follow-up data for 100,000 American women from 1993-2017, and comparing factors that can affect health, including nutrition and lifestyle.

The researchers found that women who had repeated miscarriages, as well as women who had miscarriages early in pregnancy, were more likely to die prematurely.

They pointed out that the relationship between miscarriage and premature death was clearly evident in cases of death from cardiovascular disease, which amounted to 48 percent.

The researchers noted that these findings show that miscarriage may be a sign of early risk to women’s health, including premature death.

The experts said: “More studies should be conducted in order to determine how miscarriage affects women’s long-term health and the mechanisms behind this relationship.”
