Tell relatives and friends quickly, don’t order! Even the Lunar New Year holiday begins and banks are closed. Many people switch to online banking transactions. However, fraudsters have also spotted this point. Recently, phishing newsletters of “Internet Banking Update” have been madly issued, including fake Cathay Pacific, fake Taiwan New Bank, fake All China Trust newsletters appeared. A female Taishin Bank user posted a warning on Facebook, saying that she clicked on the website link attached to the “Online Banking Version Update” newsletter. As a result, all her 400,000 yuan deposit was stolen.

A woman surnamed Chen in New Taipei City posted a long post on Facebook to disclose the process of being deceived, warning people not to click on the “Online Banking Update” newsletter. She stated in the article that she received a text message at about 6 pm on the 6th, which said “Taishin Bank reminds online banking version update” and attached a “www.taishinz.com” website. She clicked Enter the link, enter the account number, password, ID number and other information to update, and then receive a SMS verification code, and then enter the verification code, a real-looking “fake online banking page” pops up.

After doing these actions, I felt that I was only updating the information, so I didn’t make more confirmations. It was not until midnight when I got up to receive a number of remittance letters, and Chen Nv discovered that nearly 400,000 yuan in her account had all been stolen.

There are frequent scams in the newsletter at the end of the year. The Association of Banks and various financial institutions reminded on the 8th that the bank “will not” send the newsletter. Please click the link on the newsletter and enter the authentication information such as account number, password and OTP. People are requested not to enter the above authentication information on other websites except for the bank’s official website, online banking or App. If the public receives a short message or email under the guise of a bank or an unknown source, please do not click the link and contact the 165 anti-fraud consultation hotline or the bank’s customer service hotline to quickly block the fraudulent website.

In fact, within this month, fake phishing websites in the financial industry quickly appeared, fake Cathay Pacific, fake Taishin Bank, fake China Trust, fake Fubon Life, fake Chunghwa Post newsletters all appeared, and millions of people received them. Don’t order.
