WhatsApp, the most famous messaging application in the world, has recently released its latest update in tests in which it highlights the appearance of a new signal or badge when we are mentioned in a group.
Version 2.21.3.13 in the WhatsApp Beta program, is say, in tests, brings several new features, including the new mention symbol (badge) for groups and a new set of animated stickers.
Not lose the thread
Until now, when someone mentioned us in a WhatsApp group with the ‘@name’ we simply knew that they had mentioned us, but it was not reflected anywhere. This meant overlooking a message in which someone wanted to communicate something specific to us in the form of a mention.
However, with this new version, when someone mentions us within a group, we can see it from the chat view with this new symbol.
It is a symbol that will appear when we are mentioned in the cell of a group conversation.
In this way, we will be able to know more clearly when they have mentioned us and we will not lose the message thread of the group chat, in addition to being able to respond to whoever has specifically wanted to interact with us.
Currently, the mention did not work correctly in some users and, therefore, WhatsApp is working on this new version with the aim of improving this function.
However, although it is one of the advantages that this latest beta version has incorporated and, therefore, still in tests, we will have to wait a while to be able to enjoy it. Even so, those users who have the beta version will not find this new advantage available either since it is only present in the source code, but not functional.
New sticker pack
Other updates that the new version of WhatsApp will offer us is a pack of stickers called ‘Taters n Tots’, with 16 new stickers about dogs and cats. Without a doubt, two of the favorite pets for most of society.
These cats and dogs appear with different states, animations and situations, including even a Valentine’s Day, among many other fun ones.
With these improvements WhatsApp tries to deal with the leakage of users to other messaging apps like Telegram which offers some other advantage over the green speech bubble, such as playing audio messages at a higher speed to save time when listening to them.
