Suara.com – Short video platform TikTok announced that it will automatically remove videos featuring nudity or other sexual activity.
This is done in order to keep the platform safe for consumption for minors.
“This automation is designed for content categories where our technology has the highest level of accuracy,” TikTok said Fox Business, Sunday (11/7/2021).
Added, starting with violations of our policy on minor safety, nudity and sexual activity, violent and vulgar content, to illegal activities and regulated goods.
The new policy will roll out in the next few weeks and take effect for users in the United States and Canada.
The Chinese platform stated that this step was made to make it easier for moderators to curate videos that are not eligible to be displayed in the application.
Previously, TikTok used moderators to view all uploaded videos before deciding whether to delete them or not.
TikTok’s head of security, Eric Han, said moderators would focus on filtering videos that contain hate speech, intimidation and misinformation.
This announcement comes to make TikTok more transparent in moderating content.
