The Observatory: Dr. Deborah Lee of Dr. Fox’s online pharmacy has revealed that the “first” symptom of esophageal cancer is usually dysphagia.
“Esophageal cancer usually starts at the lower end of the esophagus,” Lee explained. “The cancer most likely develops there because it’s the site of acid reflux.”
He continued: “It grows slowly in this highly acidic environment and as it grows it blocks the lower part of the esophagus, which means it becomes difficult to swallow,” according to the “Express” newspaper.
He continued, “It feels like the food sticks to the throat and sometimes causes discomfort, feeling nauseous, vomiting, and dripping saliva.”
