KOMPAS.com – Meteor Shower Peak Sextantid will occur tomorrow Tuesday (28/9/2021) at dawn.

This astronomical phenomenon can be witnessed directly in all parts of Indonesia.

Meteor Rain It can be seen from 03.30 to 05.00 local time in all parts of Indonesia, both western, central and eastern Indonesian time.

“So the observation is only 90 minutes,” said Research Center for Space Science Research Center-BRIN Andi Pangerang Hasanuddin to Kompas.com, Monday (27/9/2021).

What is a Sextantid Meteor

Meteor Rain Sextantids are meteor Rain the radian point (the origin of the appearance of the meteor) in the direction of the constellation Sextans.

Andi said, radian point Sextantid meteor shower will be at maximum intensity tonight 27 September 2021 at 20.00 WITA or 19.00 WIB.

In addition, Andi also said that later the meteor shower could still be seen during the day.

“Because the radian point culminates or transits at its highest point at 09.00 local time and then sets at 15.30 local time,” he said.

That’s why this meteor shower is also called the Daytime Sextantid because the observation time at night is very short but the day is very long.

However, if seen during the day, the meteor light tends to be dim because of the greater intensity of sunlight.
