Don’t Eat Too Much Instant Noodles, IDI: Maintain Nutritional Intake

When eating food, don’t forget to consider its nutritional substances.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – People are urged to maintain balance nutritional intake on the food eaten, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic like now. Chairman of PB IDI, Daeng M Faqih, said not to consume too much instant noodles, buy fast food, and fried food.

“Don’t just look at the practicality, consider the nutritional substances, the balance of macronutrients and micronutrients, including those that help absorption in the digestive tract,” he said in an online press conference, Thursday (25/3).

Daeng said, the importance of maintaining nutritional intake, one of which is maintaining the health of the digestive tract and body immunity, especially children. Research shows, the immune system is closely related to the digestive tract.

This can happen because a good digestive tract allows the absorption of nutrients in the body to be done properly, which in turn makes for a better immune system. A healthy body and mind, plus adherence to precautionary measures, such as washing hands, wearing masks, and maintaining distance in daily interactions, will make children more ready to ward off Covid-19 attacks.

He said, the child’s immune system is closely related to daily nutrition and family care patterns. “Of course, family health is also inseparable from the role of doctors in providing education and health services to families, including for children,” said Daeng.
