The German Society for Nutrition recommends that people with high levels of harmful cholesterol (LDL) in their blood avoid foods rich in saturated fatty acids, which are found mainly in animal foods such as butter, cheese, cream, meat, sausages and some products vegetables Such as coconut and palm fat.
The association added that it should also stay away from what are known as trans fats, which are made up of oils and are mostly found in convenience foods and fast foods.
The association recommended eating foods that help reduce harmful cholesterol (LDL) by increasing beneficial cholesterol (HDL), which are foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids such as marine fish such as salmon, tuna and herring, and foods rich in dietary fibers such as vegetables, fruits, whole-grain products, nuts and oatmeal, as well as low-fat dairy products and low-fat meats.
It is worth noting that high levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) in the blood increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks and strokes.
