A new update has appeared online for social medium Snapchat. If you’re an iPhone or iPad user, you’d better wait a while before downloading and installing. The update causes Snapchat to crash when opening.

It concerns version 11.34.0.35 that was published on Sunday. Apple Insider writes that the app crashes when you try to open it after the update. Snap has since said it is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. However, that is of little use if you have already downloaded the update: then you simply cannot Snap with your phone. In short, the advice is to leave that update until the solution is available.

If you have enabled updates to be downloaded automatically, then you are doing well, because that is how you keep your phone the most secure. However, in this case it is probably good to temporarily disable this. You do that by going to your iPhone’s settings menu, then to App Store, Automatic Downloads and then App Updates. However, don’t forget to adjust this feature after this Snapchat failure, because downloading automatic app updates provides the greatest security for your phone.
If you use an Android device, you can download it with pleasure. Snapchat on Android does not appear to have this problem after update.
