Don’t Block Contacts Immediately, WhatsApp Launches New Feature to Hide Unwanted Conversations, Here’s How

Grid.ID – Message exchange app WhatsApp re-launched new features to pamper its users.

This feature is considered very useful for someone who does not want to see messages that are considered unimportant without having to block contacts or leave the group.

Quoted from Grid.ID from Kompas.com, WhatsApp has now launched the Archived Chats feature which can now be used by all users in Indonesia.

Previously, this feature was only available to certain users and beta users.

Monitoring KompasTekno, the Archived Chats feature is already available in the application WhatsApp start version 2.21.14.24 or later on Android phones.

This feature allows users to combine “less important” or unwanted messages in a folder. Incoming chats will not issue sound notifications, alerts, or pop-up messages.

The archive feature has been eagerly awaited by users WhatsApp because it can hide chat from someone or an annoying group.

Through his official Twitter account, WhatsApp CEO, Will Cathcart, @wcathcart, conveyed the usefulness of the latest features of this messaging application.

“Have a WhatsApp group that’s a little noisy and cluttering your inbox? With the new Archive feature, you can now keep chats outside your inbox, but still have access to them whenever you want!” Cathcart tweet.

The steps that must be taken to use the Archive Chats feature are fairly simple.

Users only need to press a few seconds of the chat they want to archive.

Then, press the archive icon represented by the image of a box with a down arrow.

The conversation will automatically move to the “Archived” folder which is located above the incoming contact’s homepage.

Meanwhile, as quoted by Grid.ID from Kompas.TV, archiving chats will not delete or back up the chats to the SD card.

Archived individual or group chats will remain in the archive of users receiving new messages from those conversations.

Users also won’t get notifications from those conversations unless they’re mentioned in a group conversation.
