The Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid is Toyota’s cheapest electrified car. But how much is the battery worth?
“Actually, the price of our batteries is in the order of Rp 30 million. But again, 8 years warranty on the battery,” said Herry Darmasaputra, Area Business Manager of Auto2000 on Friday (11/25/2022). Northwest to North Jakarta.
To ensure battery robustness, Toyota also provides a warranty for the new Kijang Innova Zenix battery for 8 years or 160,000km (whichever comes first).
“So Toyota is really committed to making batteries for more years, more products, more time, cheaper and can be used anywhere,” he explained.
“In the past, we mentioned the Prius and Camry, the battery could cost Rp. 60 million once replaced. cell (Drums) is also difficult,” he added.
One of the benefits of the Innova Hybrid Zenix is more efficient fuel consumption. Regarding fuel consumption, Toyota also claims that the Innova Zenix Hybrid is more economical than the previous diesel engine. PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) marketing director Anton Jimmi Suwandy said the fuel consumption of the Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid could be more than 20km/litre.
“Regarding fuel consumption, the fuel consumption of the old diesel car is around 1 liter against 14 km. The new one, even the petrol one, is already 1 liter against 15 km. Also, the hybrid one is 1 liter against 21km So from an economic point of view, both petrol and hybrid are cheaper than diesel,” said Anton.
It is known that the Innova Zenix Hybrid mounts a 2.0L TNGA engine coded M20A-FXS which delivers 152 HP of power at 6,000 rpm and 19.1 Kgm of torque at 4,400-5,200 rpm. Interestingly, while driving, the performance of the 1987cc 4-cylinder Dual VVT-i engine will be boosted by an electric motor with an output of 113hp and 21kgm of torque to produce a combined power output of 186hp in the system. .
The compact electric motor also has developed components within it to increase the power output. Including downsized transaxle as a power channel to the front wheels whose performance is enhanced to provide the best efficiency and is quieter in operation.
The Innova Hybrid Zenix battery uses a Ni-MH battery with a capacity of 1.31 kWh, packaged in a compact package and stored under the two front seats without reducing the space in the passenger compartment.
