Before the public apology, the bereaved family’s anger continued with actions that raised questions of sincerity, such as making inappropriate posts on social media.

Rep. Kim deleted the article as the coverage continued, as she was receiving national outrage over the scandal.
Rep. Lee previously explained on social media that she wrote condolences for this disaster and was expressing her dislike of groups seeking political agitation.

Civic groups in Gyeongnam Province have launched an individual protest and online signature campaign demanding the representative’s resignation.
