Don’t accept being reprimanded for being drunk, resulting in residents being beaten up by Paskhas AU-burning houses

One resident died, another was injured in the incident burning dozens of houses and kiosks in Kamuu District, District dogiyai, Papua. Not only that, two elite Indonesian Air Force (AU) soldiers, Paskhas, were also targeted by a number of unknown people (OTK) at Moanemani Airport, Dogiyai.

The tense situation began on Thursday (15/7/2021) afternoon, where a group of drunk people in the area runway Moanemani Airport, Dogiyai. The Paskhas Post, which received the report from the community, went straight to runway and rebuke the people in question.

“At 17.25 WIT, five Paskhas Task Force personnel led by Serka Wartono warned the drunken people to leave the airport runway through the footpath. Then the personnel rushed out from the inside. runway and there was a crowd of about 20 people carrying arrows, machetes and stones. The group of people immediately ganged up on five personnel of the Paskhas Task Force,” explained the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes AM Kamal in a written statement, Saturday (17/7/2021).

Paskhas personnel saved themselves by firing warning shots. A group of gangsters fled. However, the incident was not over and only the beginning of the next big event.

“At 17.31 WIT, they did not accept the reprimand so the group of residents fought back and about 20 more people attacked with machetes and axes because they were provoked. From this action, there were two victims from Paskhas personnel, who were then taken to the hospital service unit, Kimupugi Village. , Kamuu District, . County dogiyai using the Moanemani Airport ambulance,” said Kamal.

In the evening, at around 19.35 WIT, a group of people arrived in Ekimanida Village, Kamuu District, Dogiyai Regency. Then at 20.49 WIT, the mob began to burn the workshop and meatball stall owned by Iwan, who is a resident of immigrants.

This incident scared the other migrants, who finally chose to save themselves at the offices of the security forces in the district dogiyai. After the migrants died, the OTK group continued to burn buildings and houses.

The brutality of a number of these people did not stop at Ekimanida Village. They continued to visit Ikabo Village at dawn, Friday (16/7). At 04.45 WIT, the anarchist group burned and looted the contents of shops and buildings belonging to residents.
