Jakarta –
Not even a season yet Gianluigi Donnarumma has been reported to be unhappy at Paris Saint Germain. Juventus also tried to take advantage of the situation.
Donnarumma joined PSG in the transfer market last summer with a contract until 2026. The Italian international goalkeeper moved to PSG for free after his contract at AC Milan ended.
However, Donnarumma did not get much playing time at PSG. So far, he’s only been demoted twice. PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino has played more often with Keylor Navas, who has made seven appearances in all competitions this season.
According to reports The Corriere della Sera and The Gazzetta dello Sport, Donnarumma was not happy with the situation. The 22-year-old goalkeeper hopes for more playing opportunities.
Juventus claimed to have participated in monitoring Donnarumma’s situation at PSG. According to Il Corriere della Sera, Juventus could change their minds by trying to sign Donnarumma at the end of the season.
Juventus was once said to want to bring Donnarumma to Turin last summer. Donnarumma’s agent, Mino Raiola, later confirmed that there had been negotiations with the Old Lady before his client moved to Paris.
However, Juventus ultimately withdrew from the hunt for Donnarumma. They canceled the signing of Donnarumma due to difficulties in finding an interest for Wojciech Szczesny who is still under contract with Juventus until 2024.
“We don’t want to have two top goalkeepers in one team,” said Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini a few weeks ago.
