A 42-year-old woman had her Range Rover stolen while filling up with gas at a Long Island (NY) gas station and was dragged several feet during the daytime robbery.
According to the police of Nassau County, The victim was refueling at the 76 petrol station on Glen Cove Road in Glen Head shortly before 11am on Tuesday when the robbers pulled up beside her in a white Porsche Cayenne SUV.
S surveillance footage of the robbery obtained by ABC News shows the unidentified customer casually pumping gas as a man exits the passenger side of the white SUV and sneaks up, before getting behind the wheel of the Range Rover. After, both cars drive away, with the victim clinging to the side of her vehicle before falling to the tarmac.
Nassau police said the victim sustained minor injuries and was being treated at the scene. When the thief of the stolen vehicle stopped nearby, jumped with women bag and laptop and got into the Porsche Cayenne, which took off at full speed.
The thieves are still on the run. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
In a similar case, in October a thief stole a delivery man’s vehicle and then ran it over as he walked away to the Bronx. The suspect was still on the run from last week.
