STEINAU – At the end of the year, a well-kept secret is revealed: the mascot of the Steinau Adventure Park is getting his own musical! In the park’s anniversary year, Erli the donkey plays the main role in the Steinau Theatrium’s new musical puppet theater piece.
“Donkey Erli is currently doing an internship with us in the theater. He’s doing really well in acting class, his dancing is getting better and better, but Erli just can’t hit a straight note when it comes to singing. “But we’re doing our best to ensure that Erli learns to sing before the premiere,” says theater director Detlef Heinichen, praising his young actor. A few friends are currently being built in the doll workshop, which will then be shown at the premiere in the theater and then regularly in the adventure park from summer onwards. What kind of characters these will be and what the musical is about cannot yet be revealed. Just this much: it will be funny, there is a time machine and a donkey appears in the piece.
“For our 30th park anniversary in 2024, we wanted to offer our guests something that doesn’t yet exist in Germany. That’s why we immediately jumped on the idea of making a Donkey Erli musical. It’s especially obvious after our Erli has become a bit of a celebrity in our park and on social media. Since Erli heard about it, he has been hopping and jumping through our park even more happily than he already does. And I think I noticed that he even became a little cheekier. But maybe I’m wrong about that,” says park boss Theo Zwermann happily.
The adventure park has been collaborating with the Theatrium puppet theater from Steinau for a year now. This will be strengthened again from 2024. The children’s musical is scheduled to premiere in the theater before the park opens in March. As soon as the weather permits, we can also play in the adventure park. (red)
