Luka Doncic beat Ja Morant in the duel between young stars, scoring 32 points, with 7 rebounds and 10 assists in the Mavericks’ resounding victory over the Grizzlies. After starting the year with home losses to the Bulls and Celtics, the Heat bounced back by winning against the Raptors with 24 points from Jimmy Butler, 20 from Max Strus and 17 from Kyle Lowry. Spaniard Juancho Hernangómez had no minutes in the Raptors rotation, in which Pascal Siakam contributed 23 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists.
Indiana Pacers, 124 – Detroit Pistons, 115
The Pacers added their first win of the year, propelled by 27 points and 7 rebounds from Bennedict Mathurin and a double double of 24 points and 10 assists from Tyrese Haliburton. The Pistons failed to reward a great team performance, with all five of their starters scoring more than ten points, led by Cade Cunningham’s 22 points.
