As part of the “Pink October” campaign, the French Blood Establishment (EFS) recalls that blood donations are essential to help patients in their fight against many types of cancer.
Pink October is an annual communication campaign aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer screening and raising funds for research. The symbol of this event is the pink ribbon. Its Anglo-Saxon equivalent is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The fight against this disease also involves mobilizing everyone to donate blood. In fact, more than a third of blood transfusions are intended for people with cancer. “Come donate blood and help help cancer patients.” recalls the EFS.
With this reminder, the EFS intends to bring together more people around blood donation, because blood donation is a public health issue that makes it possible each year to save or support millions of patients facing their pathologies.
