According to unofficial information from “Rzeczpospolita”, on Tuesday, August 13, during a government meeting, Donald Tusk presented a candidate for commissioner from Poland in the new European Commission. It will be Piotr Serafin, who currently holds the position of chairman of the Permanent Representation of Poland to the European Union. Serafin replaced Andrzej Sadoś in this position.
There is currently no information on what portfolio Serafin could count on. He is most often associated with the position of commissioner responsible for the enlargement of the European Union. Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reported in mid-July that Poland would receive the portfolio for energy in the new term of the European Commission. “I am not worried about his preparation, he has very high competences, he is recognizable in the EU environment,” commented a source to “DGP” at the time.
