Donald Trump’s team changes again: Stephanie Grisham resigns as spokeswoman for the US President. She already has a new post.
President’s spokeswoman Donald Trump, Stephanie Grisham, leaves the post after less than a year. The 43-year-old will become press officer and chief of staff of Trump’s wife Melania, as the White House said. A successor should be announced in the coming days.
Grisham always stayed in the background
Grisham had previously acted as spokeswoman for the First Lady before she was appointed President’s media representative last summer. As Trump’s spokeswoman, she was controversial and always stayed in the background. So Grisham never conducted a press briefing in the White House himself. Trump is best known for addressing journalists himself – such as the daily press releases about the coronavirus pandemic.
Departure of the day: Trump’s spokeswoman, who did not speak to the press.
Stephanie Grisham becomes Melania Trump’s chief of staff and … press officer again after ten months as a non-press officer and without a single PC.

During his term in office, the president has exchanged top employees in the White House and ministers in key departments. It was only in March that he dismissed chief of staff Mick Mulvaney and replaced him with conservative MP Mark Meadows – his fourth chief of staff in less than four years.
Enthusiasm at Melania Trump
Before Grisham, the President had Sean Spicer and Sarah Sanders served as a speaker. Melania Trump said in a statement “enthusiastic” that Grisham is now returning to her team. “She has been a prop and real leader in government since day one.”
Grisham himself described it as an “honor” to serve the President and the First Lady. Melania Trump’s previous chief of staff Lindsay Reynolds had resigned this week to attend to her family, according to the White House.
