In Brunswick, there is outrage over the state’s allocation of $13 million to build a housing complex for migrants. They will be among the new movers who won’t have to pay rent for two years in an apartment complex that locals mock as the Taj Mahal, while locals spend between $1,800 and $2,300 a month on rent for such an apartment.
They also voiced their displeasure at the February 20 meeting of the city council.
These houses are now being built. This is discrimination in my eyes. Am I too white? This is it? Am I working too much? What is the discriminating factor? How can we give housing to anyone other than our Brunswick residents for the first time?
