Details: Donald Trump won the New Hampshire GOP primary, while President Joe Biden won the Democratic primary as the nominee.
The former president’s landslide victory makes a rematch with Biden in November more likely than ever. Trump’s main rival, Nikki Haley, took second place.
Biden did not campaign in the state and was not included on the ballot after New Hampshire ignored new party rules by holding its primary ahead of South Carolina.
“New Hampshire is first in the country. It’s not last in the country,” Haley told supporters Tuesday night. “This race is far from over.” There are dozens more states to go, and my favorite state, South Carolina, will be next.”
The Associated Press also named President Biden the winner of the state’s Democratic primary.
Joe Biden’s name is not on the ballot due to a conflict between the state government and the Democratic Party. However, about 70% of the 37 thousand voters manually wrote it into the ballot.
