Donald Trump won eight states, including Texas, in the Republican Party presidential primaries, according to American television networks, as the results of the “Super Tuesday” elections, which include 15 states for the party’s presidential nomination, began to emerge.
The former president, who is seeking an enthusiastic return to the White House after he was ousted by Democrat Joe Biden in 2020, is expected to achieve a sweeping victory in the 15 states on Tuesday on his way to securing the Republican Party nomination.
On his platform, “Truth Social,” Trump expressed his thanks to the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Maine, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia, which he won, while vote counting was still ongoing in the other Super Tuesday states.
Trump’s rival, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, was unable to impede his strong bid for the nomination, but so far she has refused to withdraw from the race.
