Donald Trump announced on Monday that it wanted to reduce by half the number of american military in Germany, claiming that Berlin had been “outstanding” in its contributions to Nato and dealt with “evil,” the United States in commercial matters.
The american president has assured the press that a 52,000 american soldiers were currently stationed in Germany, the main anchor of american forces from Nato. “It is a huge cost for the United States“, he added. “We will, therefore, reduce the number, we will bring it to 25,000“.
Upon his arrival in power, Donald Trump had called on the member States of Nato that did not meet their financial obligations to run.
