Donald Trump, USA | – Donald Trump’s secret plan for the war in Ukraine is absolutely incredible

NEW YORK (Nettavisen): Donald Trump is now under fire because he claims to be on a secret plan that can resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

THE: – Just waiting for Donald Trump to die

– Tricks from Trump

Trump gets the passport signed by the author and MSNBC scribes Steve Benenwho absolutely do not like that Trump claims to be sitting on the solution.

– It is a problem that Donald Trump claims that he has a secret plan that can end the war in Ukraine. It’s a bigger problem that he’s tried this trick before, writes Benen.

Benen points out that shortly after the Russian invasion took place, Donald Trump claimed that there were “things” Biden could do to end the war “pretty quickly”.

The problem, however, was that Trump was never clear about what this was.

– At one point he suggested that the US could put Chinese flags on our F-22 fighters, but this was not an argument that should be taken seriously, writes Benen.

Trump: – Guaranteed

And now Donald Trump is out again and claims he can end the war.

In an interview with the conservative channel Right Side Broadcasting Network, Donald Trump claims that he can bring an end to the war within “24 hours”, and that it is “easy”.

– This can be negotiated, I think, within 24 hours. It must be done from the office of the President. And you have to get them both into a room, and then there are things you can say to each of them, which I won’t reveal what it is right now, but which will surely end the war instantly. And they will have to do it, says Trump.

– Pointless by Trump

Benen, like many others, has no faith that Trump is sitting on any solution to the war.

– Trump obviously does not have a secret plan. He also has no credibility in the matter, especially after describing Vladimir Putin’s attack on Ukraine as “brilliant”, he writes.

The commentator also brings out similar statements from Trump. Eight years ago, Trump claimed he knew exactly what to do to “defeat ISIS very quickly.”

“But I’m not going to tell you what it is … I don’t want the enemy to know what I’m doing,” said Trump, who claimed he had a “method to defeat quickly and effectively to achieve a total victory.”

Later, Benen writes, it turned out that Trump had no secret plan, and that the rhetoric was “completely meaningless”.

– Childish

But Trump is not alone in using such an argument, Benen points out. He refers, among other things, to Senator John McCain who in 2008 claimed he was on a secret plan to get hold of Osama bin Laden – if only he was elected president first.

And in 1968, Richard Nixon also told voters that he was working on a secret plan to end the war in Vietnam – a plan he refused to share with anyone before the election. When he finally won the election, however, the conflict continued.

The MSNBC commentary believes these examples show that there is still much that has not changed.

– Childish games and imaginary secrets are no substitute for a national security policy. Those who are not prepared to be followed on this should consider finding another job, writes Steve Benen, who wrote the column as a prelude to President Biden’s State of The Union address to Congress this week.

– Putin does not want diplomacy now

Although Donald Trump has great faith in a diplomatic solution, this is an opinion shared by neither the US nor NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who was in Washington this week.

– The Kremlin is preparing new offensives in Ukraine. We see no signs that Russia wants peace, Stoltenberg said during a press conference on Wednesday.

THE: Can pick and choose: This is Jens’ luxury problem

This opinion is shared by US Foreign Minister Antony Blinken.

– President Vladimir Putin has no genuine interest in diplomacy right now, said Blinken at the press conference.

– The best way to speed up the prospects for real diplomacy is to continue support and ensure that the upper hand on the battlefield is tipped in favor of Ukraine, Blinken added.
