The US president is to count on long cooperation with other leaders
According to the AFP agency, Trump was supposed to tell leaders during the session that he “did an absolutely amazing job during his term in terms of economy and in the context of a pandemic.” He was not to say anything about the global situation. Another AFP source said the US president said he was “looking forward” to working with those at the summit “for a long time.”
Bloomberg adds that unlike other leaders, Trump did not highlight the need to share vaccines, especially with poorer countries. Instead, it was to call on leaders to reject the lockdown as a tool to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
Donald Trump is also scheduled to appear at the G20 summit on Sunday, according to the schedule of the White House.
